Since its foundation in 1951 the University of Bristol Theatre Collection has expanded to become a Fully Accredited Museum and theatrical research centre.
A free access, non-commercial site, covering most forms of popular entertainment in the English-speaking world from the 1850s to the 1920s, with an emphasis on biographies and reviews. The site, which is heavily illustrated with portraits, play scenes, etc, is updated weekly, and a growing archive is maintained.
