Cultures in Dialogue.The task of the ifa, a mediator of German foreign cultural policy on behalf of the Federal Foreign Office, is the fostering of cross-cultural understanding through international co-operation in all aspects of culture, and the furtherance of peace. The primary activities of the ifa are worldwide touring exhibitions of German art, exhibitions of artists from developing and transforming countries in the ifa galleries in Stuttgart und Berlin and the organising of international symposia. The ifa is supported financially by the Federal Foreign Office, The State of Baden-Wurttemberg and its capital, the City of Stuttgart.
